I am a photographer with: The Tilly Project
The Tilly Project has such an important mission:
"The Tilly Project is an international 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that aims to connect pet owners with end-of-life pet photographers across the world and to provide accessible, educational, and supportive resources for photography, anticipatory grief, and pet loss/bereavement."

What the Tilly Project Does:
Founded in 2021 by Lauren Kennedy, the Tilly Project is an organization which has several goals:

-
To create an online platform/community which connects clients seeking end-of-life pet photography services with a photographer who offers them.
-
To provide educational photographic tutorials for individuals + veterinary staff when a professional photographer isn’t an option.
-
To provide educational and supportive resources for pet owners who are living with anticipatory grief, and pet loss/bereavement.

Tilly inspired Lauren, and I have found inspiration in a shelter dog named Kendall. We both experienced the loss of animals that profoundly touched our hearts. I met Kendall at the Maricopa County Animal Care & Control shelter. After losing six beloved humans I found Kendall during a time of grief like I had never known before. She aided in my healing, and I believe I helped her heal as well. She inspired me, motivated to do more, and filled my life with joy and laughter. We went on many adventures and photoshoots to helper get seen for over a year. She was in the shelter system from December 2023.
Tragedy struck when she was adopted by a family that did not follow the requirements set for her. They misled her foster and neglected to mention the two small dogs in their home. An incident occurred that caused her to be returned to the shelter, a kennel she was unable to cope with. Tragically, she was euthanized at the county shelter in January of 2025. Two dog's lives were lost due to human ignorance. I was devastated. I still feel that heartbreak.
However, after receiving grief counseling, I am motivated once more. Tilly's project offers resources for grieving pet parents, and now it's my turn to give back. I provide a discounted rate for "End of Life Sessions," which we refer to as Tribute Sessions.
If you adopted your pet from Maricopa County Animal Care and Control, there is NO FEE for a full Tribute session.
